The time has come for some serious catering. I’m getting out of the street for a night to pair up with my old partner Edd Chapman to make dinner at Brew For Two in Hackney.

I’ve put together a five course seasonal British menu that carries various subtle influences from street food whilst being the kind thing that you’ll need to sit down to eat. The menu pairs with beers from Pressure Drop brewery, whose full range will be available on the night. The beers are also sneaking around in the food, with their porter in the beef cheek and hefeweisse in the granita, amongst some other splashes here and there.

Keeping things local, there will also be sodas from the good people of Square Root, Doughnuts from You Doughnut! and some foraged goods from out on the marshes, courtesy of John the Poacher. Haggis will come from Chatsworth Rd Market favourites Deeney’s and there’ll be brownies from the wonderful Batch Bakery. Details of the sweets will be kept as a surprise for the evening but we may get excited and tweet about them so follow us here to keep up to date.

Bookings are in advance and can be made by email or you can drop by Brew For Two. If you’d like tickets email us at weeatinfo@gmail.com. The menu is priced at £30 per head, with the beers sold separately. Essential beer pairings will be available on a 3-for-a-tenner deal. The event will run from 6:30pm-11:00 pm, with bookings being taken until 9:30pm. Your seat will be yours for the entire evening so you’ll be able to relax and mingle with the brewers, bakers and caterers that come by for food and booze.

We’re really looking forward to meeting some of the people who’ve met the stories and ideas of We Eat with enthusiasm over the past year or so and would be delighted if you could make it to our first dinner. If you have any questions or enquiries, feel free to give us a tweet or drop us an email.
